The Department of Sociology was established at the First Capital University of Bangladesh, Chuadanga from the very beginning of the University 14 march 2012.  8 years has already passed with the glory of achievement through teaching and learning at the university. I feel proud of and thankful to them who are connected contributors since the establishment of the university. I am very much delighted to be a chairman of the department from the very first of the establishment. The department of sociology of this university paved the way for teaching and research in sociology in Bangladesh. The department is strived to give students a desired exposure to understanding of sociology, offering 50 courses ranging from Introduction to Sociology to sociology of development and theoretical perspective on sociology over the years.  The department emphasized both the courses research methodology and project planning and management which developed students a better career in the future. Our focus is also on promoting intellectual leadership through innovation and outcome based education fostering social commitment through community affiliation. It gives me immense pleasure that the connected effort of the faculty members and students both from home and abroad added feathers in our cap.

In order to achieve the rest of the noble goals and turn our country into the Golden Bangladesh of Father of the Nations Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman we all have to work together relentlessly and wholeheartedly.
